Join consulting cybersecurity company founded by former senior leaders from a major global technology giant. With a proven European legacy and a sharp focus on regulated industries, this agile and growing organization is now scaling its presence in the UK. Specializing in cybersecurity strategy, risk & compliance, and cyber defense consulting the company offers an entrepreneurial environment and a unique opportunity to build lasting client relationships from the ground up. This role is ideal for a commercially driven individual ready to take ownership of business growth in a startup-like UK operation backed by international expertise.
Job Description

As the Cybersecurity Consulting Business Development Lead, you will manage UK commercial expansion, focused almost entirely on net-new business development with a smaller focus on strategic account growth. You’ll engage directly with C-level stakeholders at medium and large UK enterprises to deliver consulting-led cyber solutions. Success in this role requires strong market knowledge, an established network, and the confidence to represent a high-caliber brand in a competitive space — with a focus on trusted advisory over transactional sales.

  • Drive business development activities to grow the UK cybersecurity consulting portfolio, focusing on commercial sectors (non-financial services, energy, or life sciences)
  • Identify, develop, and close new consulting opportunities in areas such as cyber risk, compliance, IAM, and cyber defence
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships, primarily with medium to large enterprises across the UK
  • Represent the brand in the UK market, helping to build visibility and recognition of the firm’s capabilities
  • Provide insights into cybersecurity trends and advise clients on best-fit strategies and frameworks
  • Collaborate with delivery teams and subcontractors across Europe to ensure seamless consulting project execution
  • Participate in shaping the go-to-market strategy and contribute to brand positioning efforts in the UK
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development within the consulting domain
  • Proven track record of developing new business in the UK cybersecurity space – ideally with strong existing relationships in the commercial sector
  • Valid understanding of risk and compliance, cyber strategy, and cyber defense consulting
  • Comfortable operating in a start-up or scale-up environment – entrepreneurial mindset is essential
  • A hunter mindset – confident in pursuing and closing new deals independently
  • Strong network across commercial sectors
  • Familiarity with procurement and supply chain cyber risks is highly preferred
  • Sales training or relevant commercial certifications are beneficial, not necessary
