Job Description

Work for a leading firm in the automotive sector, currently acquiring a new manufacturing plant. The plant is a Tier 1 supplier specializing in metallurgical castings for major OEMs, with a solid and healthy revenue and an EBITDA. We are looking for a dynamic CEO/COO to gradually take over the management and ensure a smooth transition over the next years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall management of the manufacturing plant, ensuring operational efficiency and growth.
  • Gradual assumption of key client relationships from current owners.
  • Development and expansion of the sales network to ensure sustainable business post-ownership transition.
  • Leadership in the metallurgical castings sector, with a focus on swiftly integrating production from suppliers unable to meet obligations.
  • Rapid relocation and commencement of production in collaboration with customers and suppliers, leveraging unique market capabilities.
  • Comprehensive management of the plant, including procurement, logistics, production, finance, HR, and sales.
  • Close collaboration with the CFO on sales activities, emphasizing relationship-building.
  • Ensure in-house R&D aligns with production and business goals.
  • Frequent interaction and reporting to the owners, fostering a direct and collaborative relationship.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in managing an automotive manufacturing company, with a deep understanding of the automotive supply chain.
  • Operational Expertise: Ability to oversee comprehensive plant operations, including procurement, logistics, production, finance, HR, and sales.
  • Sales Acumen: Strong ambition and drive to excel in sales and business development, with a focus on building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team, initially consisting of six direct reports.
  • Strategic Vision: Capability to develop and implement strategic plans to drive operational efficiency and growth.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and German; proficiency in Czech or Slovak is a plus.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of metallurgical castings and the ability to innovate and participate in CAPEX planning.
  • Relationship Management: Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including direct reporting to company owners.
  • R&D Alignment: Ability to ensure in-house R&D aligns with production and business goals.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to rapidly integrate production from suppliers unable to meet obligations and swiftly relocate and commence production in collaboration with customers and suppliers.
Required Education
  • Master’s Degree (Preferred): An MBA or a Master’s degree in a relevant field is highly desirable.
  • Industry Certifications: Any relevant industry certifications in automotive manufacturing or supply chain management would be an added advantage.
  • Continuous Learning: Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with industry trends and advancements.
